What is it like to work with a Dietitian?

Dietitians are trained to provide evidence-based nutrition counselling and education to clients. A dietitian will assess your current dietary intake, physical activity level, medical history, laboratory data (if available) and social history. In addition, the Dietitian will discuss with you your personal health goals and readiness to change. This allows the Dietitian to work with you to determine the best individualized plan for you. A Dietitian can help facilitate healthy behaviour change, by providing strategies and resources to improve your diet based on your needs.

  • What do I bring to my first appointment?

    • List of medications/supplements you currently take
    • List of specific questions you have
    • If possible, bring a copy of your latest relevant lab test results (optional).
